Ways to Plan for NDIS Goals

If approved for NDIS funding, you must have a clear goal to be part of the NDIS plan. These goals will help you decide how your NDIS funding will help you achieve your goals. Each participant has a different purpose depending on the requirements. You may have too many plans and need help prioritizing what needs to be achieved first. Having a project manager by your side can help you accomplish this task. Reviewing a participant's plan can also help. We recommend that the participant have 2-3 short-term and 2-3 medium and long-term goals.

Here are some steps you can take when planning your goals.

  1. List out all the things you'd like to manage in your day-to-day life.
  2. Left all those things that might not be achievable due to your disability.
  3. Point out your top five favourite goals you can achieve in the next 12 months and five long-term goals you plan to accomplish in the next 3 to 4 years. Highlight them using different colours.
  4. Consult your family and friends to ascertain which goals you should prioritize.

Suppose you need help in achieving your goal. You can contact NDIS experts or your local coordinator for more information.

Why are goals important?

Your goal is an important part of creating your plan. It helps us to know what is important to us and to prioritize in our life. Objectives can also help in determining the following:

  • Your strengths and ways to use them.
  • Your motivation to do different things independently.
  • Ways to measure your progress.

But you work hard to make your goals your own. Sometimes you may need small changes, and other times you may need drastic changes. You can also get help from family and friends to identify and support your goals. Experienced strategic managers at Hi Five can help you identify your goals.
